School Board


The School Education Act 1999 provides for School Councils to enable parents and members of the community the opportunity to engage in activities that are in the best interests of students and enhance the education provided by the school.

Specifically, the functions of the Board are to:

  1. Take part in:
  • Establishing and reviewing the school’s objectives, priorities, and general policy directions.
  • Financial planning to support the above.
  • Evaluating the school performance in achieving the above.
  • Formulating codes of conduct for students.

2.   Promote the school in the community.

3.   Determine, in consultation, a dress code for students.

4.   Approve:

  • Contributions, charges and extra cost optional components of the school educational program.
  • Items for personal use in the educational program.
  • Advertising and sponsorship arrangements.

The Campbell School Council was established in 2002 and became a School Board in 2010.

The School Board met on Monday evening 1st August
The Assistant Principal selection process is in its final stages with an announcement expected within a week.

NAPLAN data is expected to be sent through shortly and will be presented to the board.

Discussion was held around the Board AGM timing and the possibility of holding a morning meeting to encourage parent attendance.

The school has been successful in an application for funding to enhance the playground area. KidSafe has been consulted with planning for this upgrade.

The board voted to renew the contract for Helping Hands to provide Before/After and Vacation School Care on the Campbell site.

Mr Christie presented the school’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) strategic planning and the plans for supporting Student Academic Extension through Music, Drama, Art, Dance, Science and Mathematics.

The next meeting will be held on 29th August 2016, time to be advised.

Chairperson School Board

The School Board met on Monday 9th of May.

We welcomed Kevin Fraser as a community representative to the board. Kevin has extensive experience with the School of Instrumental Music.

The main agenda item was the 2016-2019 School Business Plan.

The focus area subcommittees shared their ideas around the focus areas of Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Supportive Learning Environment and Partnerships.

The staff have been working with their classes to explicitly identify the attributes of a Campbell Champion. This is now a peer voted award. The Board approved the changes to the criteria for the Campbell Champion program.

The new Students at Educational Risk policy was presented by Ms Bates, discussed and approved by the Board.

The board approved early close on 29th June 2016 to allow parents the opportunity to discuss their children’s progress following school reports going home on the 24th June 2016.

The next meeting is scheduled for 13th June 2016 at 7pm.
