Public Education Budget

The Government has just released the State Budget 2016-17 including the budget for the

Department of Education. I encourage you to find out the details on the Government’s

website.

You will see that the State Government will spend $4.84 billion on primary and secondary

school education in 2016-17, an increase of $81 million on 2015-16.

The Department of Treasury has provided a budget infographic depicting the public

education budget for 2016-17.

You may wish to put a link to this infographic on the homepage of your school web and

social media sites to ensure school communities have easy access to this information.
