Campbell Primary School offers each student in Year 5 and Year 6 the opportunity to participate in our BYOD program. This program enables students to use their own iPad to achieve enhanced access to engaging learning through the school’s wireless network. This is particularly valuable as the school invests in more online learning programs, catering to individual student needs within the context of the Western Australian curriculum.
The devices need to conform with the following specifications:
- iPad (6th Gen or above)
- Minimum 32 GB
- A10 chip
- iOS 12 compatible or above
Please note that iPads are not covered by the school’s insurance. While a protective case is not a requirement, it is highly recommended. It should be as sturdy as possible with all corners enclosed as a minimum.
Year 6 students can continue to use the same iPad they used in Year 5: however, if the iPad is older than an iPad 5th generation, the operating system might not be able to be updated for the full year. This can result in increased software security issues and the iPad might slow down considerably.
On Thursday 28 November 2019 from 6.00pm to 7.00pm we will be conducting Parent Information session about the BYOD program in our Information Centre. In this session we will be covering helpful tips on how to:
- Care and maintain the iPad
- How to set restrictions on the iPad
- What is an apple ID
- Connect
- Educational websites
We hope you can join us at the BYOD information session on Thursday 28 November 2019.
