After students have shared their ideas and connections with the new theme, students have time to individually explore our new theme. They are encouraged to use all four elements of Dance (body, energy, space and time) to explore different shapes and movements that explore the theme. We often play a game called ‘fast action freeze’ during exploration time as it encourages students to experiment with static and locomotor movements. In this task, students worked in pairs to recreate shapes of the landmarks and explored the different movements and travels that could communicate the landmarks to an audience.
