On Wednesday May 22 Campbell Primary School participated in the 2019 National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) event. This is an annual initiative run by The Australian Library and Information Association to promote the value of literacy and reading. Every year an Australian book is selected, and this book is read simultaneously in schools, libraries and other places across Australia at the same time! This year’s book was ‘Alpacas with Maracas’, by Matt Cosgrove. Campbell Primary School was one of 9,890 locations to participate in NSS across the country. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed reading the story and it was a pleasure to see students engaging with the text in so many ways throughout the school. We look forward to getting involved again in 2020 as the initiative heads into its 20th year.
