This morning, the Year 1 students were engaged in their literacy activities. These included Guided Reading with the teacher, comprehension cards, writing their spelling words in “Sound Boxes” and using the iPads to listen to high quality literature and practise their spelling words with games. They are so independent!
In Year 2 we are reviewing the writing of persuasive texts. We are focusing on using high modality language, rhetorical questions and paragraphing. We are reading a variety of non-fiction and fiction texts and working on developing fluency and expression in our reading. We are also practising finding the evidence in texts to support our answers to comprehension questions. In numeracy we are learning about measuring area and volume.
