Assistant Principal’s Address – Mrs Mandy Slee

It is my pleasure to announce that Campbell Primary School is part of the pilot trial of DiGii Social. DiGii Social is an online platform that prepares and protects students through fun, immersive and age-appropriate cyber-education. Next semester, our Year 5 and 6 students will have access to the platform and through its use, learn to be better digital citizens. Created by the author of the Highway Heroes program, Claire Orange, this platform is designed to recreate social media with training wheels, and teaches students to be safe, civil and upstanding in their online life.  Parents/carers of Year 5 and 6 students would have received an email link to register. We look forward to staff training and the roll out of this program early Term 3.

Parents/carers would have received a link today via Connect and SMS to give consent for the additional apps/websites staff wish to use. Please see the Connect notice for further details. We ask that parents/carers complete a consent form for each of their children attending Campbell PS by the start of next term, Monday 19 July. You can access the link below.

Finally, I encourage all parents/carers to have a look at the eSafety Commissioner website which can be found at http://www.esafety.gov.au . This site is an excellent resource for parents and children, with detailed advice on how keep your child stay safe online. With school holidays commencing and children potentially spending more time online, this is a great opportunity to talk with your child/ren about their behaviours online.

I would like to wish all of our Campbell students a wonderful, restful school holiday break. I encourage you all to curl up with a good book each day as part of our Holiday Reading Challenge. I look forward to seeing you all back for what will be a busy, but exciting Term 3.

Kind regards,

Mrs Mandy Slee
