Book Week 2020 Curious Creature, Wild Minds

What a wonderful week it has been celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators through the theme of ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’ for Book Week 2020.

Across the school students have engaged and enjoyed a variety of activities to highlight the importance of reading, extend their literacy skills and to develop a love books.

During the week children designed their own curious creatures and completed writing tasks to complement their creations. They also conducted book character interviews and reviews of their favourite texts. Teachers read daily a selection of their most cherished books and a raffle was also held with the winning class, LA15 receiving some special time with our Author in Residence Miss Lisa Van Der Wielen. The footprints of some curious creatures were also discovered in the Early Learning playground and within the pages of a variety of texts in the Library, which allowed students to win a prize for their discovery.

The week finally culminated with a parade of all classes displaying their creative costumes on the oval, which was also enjoyed by our wider school community.

We hope our students had an amazing time and continue to find delight in the curious creatures and wild adventures that can be found within the pages of their favourite books.
