Book Week 2021

What a wonderful week it has been celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators through this year’s theme of ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds’ for Book Week 2021.

Across the school students engaged with and enjoyed a variety of activities to highlight the importance of reading, extend their literacy skills and develop a love books.

Thank you to Big W Livingstone for donating balloons for the annual Book Fair, which was a great success.  Students and staff alike enjoyed the opportunity to dress up as their favourite character for our Book Week parade. Some clever and creative costumes were on display! We were also lucky enough to have Mrs Mutch providing story telling sessions in the Library and staff sharing a selection of their much-loved stories within classrooms throughout the week.

We are also looking forward to our visit on Friday from Gus the resident dog from Ronald McDonald house who is the inspiration behind our Author in Residence, Miss Van der Wielen’s book ‘The Life of Gus’. It will be wonderful to have her read and share her beautiful story with us.

We hope our Campbell students continue to find delight in the ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds and Other Worlds’ that they can travel to within the pages of their favourite books.
