COVID-19 From the Principal 2 April 2020 4.00pm

Good afternoon Parents and Carers,

I do hope this message finds you all well. The school is a strange place for us all at present, with so few students. We are certainly missing your children and hope that they are being super resilient and kind at this time.

I wish to further communicate the current situation for us at Campbell PS.  As you have previously been advised, the final week of Term 1 which is next week, we will be providing supervision only for students that attend. The students will be set up in the undercover area with adequate social distancing being provided. Please be advised that students attending will be supervised and the week will not look like a normal school programme. During this week staff will be focused on provision of learning from home packages which will become available next term, if the direction is given to do so from the Department of Education.

Furthermore, as of today we have closed all playgrounds onsite.

By the end of this week, you will find new information on our Campbell Primary School website through the “Learning from Home” tab on our homepage. The information this week will be focused on supporting parents with practical advice on how to best help their children when learning from home. This will include some video tutorials on how to access and use Connect.  Please check our webpage and Face Book pages regularly at this time to stay up-to-date.

Parents are also advised that the Gifted and Talented Secondary Selective Entry Program (GATE) testing has been postponed. Students will be provided an alternative assessment opportunity in the future.

Parents can access advice on how to support their children’s well-being through our Learning from Home tab on the web page. Please also know that if you or your family require urgent mental health advice or support there is a 24-hour crisis support line you can access on 1800 048 636.

I thank you all for your patience and support of the school. Stay well and enjoy this time with your family, as this is the one lovely benefit of our current situation.

Regards

Lynne Bates
