Deputy Principal’s Address June 2022

On behalf of our principal Miss Bates and other members of the Executive Team, welcome back to Term 3. I hope that all our families had an enjoyable break. Term 3 brings many school activities and events including the School Photos, Book Fair, Book Week Parade, Father’s Day events and Faction Carnivals at the end of the term. Our Pre-primary to Year 6 student who have not yet participated in swimming lessons will do so this term. We will also be hosting parent teacher interviews in our half day closure next Wednesday, and a parent open night later this term. To stay up to date with coming events please visit the school’s website at Campbell Primary School – Canning Vale, Western Australia or Facebook page.
Staffing Term 3.
We would like to welcome Miss Tara Devine to Campbell Primary School who joins us as our School Psychologist for the remainder of the year. Tara will work out of the Kanyar Block on Mondays and Thursdays. We would also like to welcome Miss Rachel Kelly who will be teaching Thursdays in LA12 and Fridays in LA15.
P&C
Thank you to the P&C members for all that they do and contribute to our school community. The P&C support the Executive Team to plan and run events that connect Campbell Primary School and its community, as well as raise funds to support our students. The P&C held many successful events in Term 2 including their annual Mother’s Day stall and election day BBQ. In Week 10 they ran a silver coin frenzy which was highly successful and raised over $1000. The winning year level will have a PJ day in Term 3 to celebrate their win.
The members of the P&C work hard to plan these events and always need extra volunteers and support. If you are able to volunteer your time or join the P&C, please contact administration. They also hold second-hand uniform stalls twice a term to on sell uniforms for only $5.00. Look out on Connect and the Facebook page for updates to see when the next stall will be held.
The next P&C meeting will be held next week on Tuesday 26 July in the library from 2pm. All parents and carers are invited to join us at the meeting. The P&C will be hosting the Father’s Day stall, Disco and Colour Run in Term 3 so look out for these events through our marketing pages.
Reading at Campbell PS
Regular nightly reading continues to be a priority at Campbell PS for all our students. To support our students further we are looking for parent or carer volunteers to assist in classes in the mornings or afternoons to listen to our students read. It really is a wonderful experience. If you are able to help in a class outside your own child’s please complete this survey (https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx…) or assist in your own child’s class by letting the teacher know.
To further support this we are purchasing new home readers which will need to be accessioned through the library and covered. If you are able to help with covering please let Ali know in the library or contact administration.
Don’t forget to return your Holiday Reading Challenge form to be in the running for great book prizes. All students who participate will be given a reward chosen by the students. Remember every minute of Reading counts!
Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)
In August of every year Campbell Primary School completes the NCCD. Please find attached to this address further information regarding the NCCD for families. The data collected is anonymous and supports the staff at Campbell PS to identify students that need adjustments for their learning. For more information visit the website here Home – Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (nccd.edu.au).
I look forward to seeing all our families around the school over the coming weeks.
Kind regards,
Paige Goodsell
Associate Principal
