National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week – 27 May 2022 to 3 June 2022 and National Sorry Day Thursday 26 May 2022.
National Reconciliation Week is a time for all of us to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. So let’s Be Brave together, which is this years theme. Let’s reflect deep within our hearts to ignite our empathy and compassion, to enact positive and practical actions to Make Change. Let’s walk together on this journey through deep listening and understanding of diverse experiences and unify our awareness and intelligence in building our strengths to continue the important work that takes place each day in our schools and our communities.
At Campbell PS the classes are all participating in activities to learn more about National Sorry Day and the importance of this day.
In LA16 the students investigated and discussed Sorry Day they drafted and published acrostic poems that explored the tragedy and sadness created by the stolen generation.
Mrs Menegola has set up an amazing display in the library.
LA 18 read the book “Stolen Girl” after a discussion about the book and some feeling words we wrote a Cinquain poem and published them on our iPads.
