Principal’s Address

Dear parents/carers, staff and students,

I present to you the Principal’s address on behalf of Ms Bates who is on leave for the remainder of this term. I know she would join me in thanking all the staff and students for their commitment to our Campbell mission to nurture the hearts and minds of all, and for demonstrating our school values each and every day.

Term 3 has been a very busy and enjoyable term for all our staff, students and families. As we approach the end of term, on behalf of the Campbell Primary School Executive Team, I would also like to thank the P&C executive members and volunteers for their organisation and running of many successful events this term. Thank you to our School Board who meet twice each term to acknowledge the incredible efforts of our staff and progress of our students. They are also pivotal in reviewing and endorsing the CPS policies and procedures ensuring a focus on what matters most for our students.

We have many things to celebrate from the term and I would like to acknowledge the resilience of all staff, students, and families as we learn to live with COVID.

Term 3 Events

We have held many successful parent events this term to engage with families post COVID restrictions. It is a pleasure to have our families back attending school events and in classrooms. In Term 3 we had our in-term swimming lessons, school photos, and students from across the school have attended many engaging and exciting excursions and incursions. Our Year 2 and Year 3 students have their Constable Care excursion still to look forward to next term.

In Week 5 we held our annual Book Fair and raised over $2 000.00 for our school library. We also held our inaugural Family Book Week Parade which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Thank you once again to all the families who joined the parade and each and every child who celebrated Book Week with us. The Kindy, Pre-primary and Year 1 students welcomed their fathers into their classes for an afternoon of activities to celebrate Father’s Day. Last week students dressed in yellow, and our boulevard was alight with sunflowers to acknowledge RUOK? Day. There are many more exciting events to come over the coming weeks and term.

We were thrilled to welcome so many students and families to our Open Night held on Wednesday night – 14 September 2022. The students have worked exceptionally hard over the course of the year and this is a wonderful opportunity for families to celebrate their child’s efforts. Thank you to the P&C and our volunteers from Eternal Life Ministry for their support with the sausage sizzle which fundraised to provide ongoing resources to our students.

Congratulations to Miss Roberts and the Campbell PS Dance Troupe who performed at Wakakirri earlier this term. Their commitment to early morning sessions to learn their routine and perform at this level is commendable. They received excellent feedback from the Wakakirri panel and, as a result of their incredible performance, have been nominated for the Wakakirri National Festival Award: Mental Health Story Award. The CPS Dance Troupe received the following feedback from panel member Rohan Senior I loved the message. A wonderful coming together in a show of solidarity at the end. Great choice of music. Great message, well done! We look forward to hearing the results of their nomination next term.

Congratulations also to Miss Mews and our Interschool Cross Country Team who competed against our network schools earlier this term with much success.
